Grid Animation Announces Production Slate: The Flat-Liners and Star Crossed
Grid Animation announced its inaugural production slate today, featuring two major projects: "The Flat-Liners" and "Star Crossed." The announcements mark the beginning of Grid's journey as a premier animation studio under the Carhart Media & Entertainment umbrella. "The Flat-Liners" represents a fresh creative take on the superhero genre, featuring a diverse ensemble of characters navigating modern social dynamics alongside extraordinary abilities. The series employs cutting-edge animation techniques blending traditional 2D art direction with next-generation digital rendering, developed specifically to showcase character complexity and emotional depth rarely seen in animation. "Star Crossed" is set to adapt the highly anticipated upcoming webtoon series for premium animation audiences, bringing the romantic science-fiction narrative to life with cinematic production values. The adaptation preserves the webtoon's devoted fan base engagement while introducing the narrative to broader audiences through CME's emerging streaming platform. Both projects are soon to move into production at the grid animation campus, with production teams including industry veterans and emerging creative talent. Grid Animation is simultaneously developing relationships with independent creators and content platforms to expand the production slate through 2027. "We're proving that animation can be a platform for serious storytelling and artistic innovation," said Grid Animation's creative director. "These first projects set the tone for what Grid represents."
